Master of Science or Master of Arts in Interdisciplinary Studies, MSIS/MAIS
The Interdisciplinary Studies program with a concentration in Organization, Workforce, and Leadership Studies offers a Master of Science in Interdisciplinary Studies (MSIS) or Master of Arts in Interdisciplinary Studies (MAIS).
The purpose of both degrees is to engage students in different disciplines to understand certain topics or problems. Each of the degree offerings have the same rules about course choice and requirements, so potential students may choose either based on the degree they would like to receive. Each degree is 39-hours and can be completed through a mixture of face-to-face, online, and hybrid classes.
The MSIS and MAIS degrees are individualized for each student, allowing them to enroll in courses from different disciplines based on career experience, needs, and goals. Students often choose, but are not limited to the following disciplines: education, communication studies, social work, human resources, psychology, sociology, philosophy, criminal justice, and counseling. In addition, students have the option to choose between a research track or a practicum track as their exit module.
The Interdisciplinary Studies degree can also include coursework for additional certification programs so you can receive a degree and a certificate as you complete your degree. Applicants are required to submit TOEFL, PTE, or IELTS scores that meet the minimum program requirements below unless they have earned a bachelor’s degree or higher from a regionally accredited U.S. institution or the equivalent from a country on our exempt countries list.
